Cheselbourne School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

We’ve started of this year with a whizz, pop and a bang of magic and a school transformed.  Here is the article about our magic that went out in the Dorset Echo.

The children and staff of Cheselbourne Village School enjoyed two weeks of learning at Cheselbourne School of Witchraft and Wizardry.  Taking inspiration from another famous magical school, Cheselbourne was transformed for two weeks and the usual classrooms and corridors became new rooms such as a Great Hall , a Potion’s Dungeon, a Herbology Room and Station, complete with magical brick wall for the children to enter through.  Every child received a magical letter through the post, sent to them at home the weekend before and arrived at their new school brimming with excitement for an adventure to begin on the Monday morning.  Staff, dressed as magical characters, greeted them and sorted them into houses ready for a fortnight of magical themed learning to begin.  From potions classes and levitation lessons in Science to magical stories and poems in Literacy; magical art and a Care of Magical creatures lesson at a local Alpaca herd, the children had a wonderful time. Headteacher Mrs See said the school’s motto is ‘inspiring a lifetime love of learning‘ and providing creative, inspiring environments such as this helps inspire the children in their attitude towards their learning and encourage them to strive to be the best they can be. Parents enjoyed visiting the school in the second week to find out all about what their children had been getting up too at school.
